FIRST TECH CHALLENGE
FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) is an international program in which students design, build and program a robot for a new challenge each season—and develop the team that takes it to competition.
Students interpret the game, turn requirements into mechanisms and check ideas in CAD.
Students prototype, assemble and test until the robot is robust and repeatable.
Driver control, sensors and autonomy: code gives the robot precision and behavior.
Students analyze scoring, alliance partners and the trade-offs of every match.
The Engineering Portfolio explains decisions, iterations, organization and impact.
Outreach, collaborations and events take STEAM education beyond the workshop.
WHAT A MATCH LOOKS LIKE
At first, the robot runs programmed sequences on its own. Then the drive team takes control. The final moments demand precision, strategy and calm.
Rules and objectives change each season, but the process remains: analysis, prototype, test, feedback, iteration.
THE CTRL+FUTURE SEASON
First we need a workspace and partner school, then we can form the team. The goals below describe the intended path, without confirming participation in a specific season.

Mechanics, control, sensors, CAD, documentation and safety.
Reliability and the ability to finish a match come before complexity.
Every match, pit discussion and meeting with another team becomes feedback.
Code, documentation, processes and a team culture that can continue.
